The clock tower was installed earlier this week and is in accord with Metro's original station rendering
About a week after the Gold Line Eastside Extension had its grand opening, the Lake Avenue station in Pasadena inched closer to completing construction on upgrades intended to give the station a more substantial presence. Some in the community wondered if Metro would stay true to the original renderings by adding the clock tower feature above the elevator shaft on the east side of the station. The affirmative answer was revealed this week as a crane hoisted the clock tower into place in the early morning hours of Tuesday before the commuter rush hour began.
The canopy shades (probably made out of solar panels) will most likely be the next portion of upgrades that will be installed before construction finally comes close to wrapping up.

Construction upgrades continue on the Gold Line Lake Avenue Station

The current upgrades will finally match the original Metro design renderings for the Gold Line Lake Avenue Station

Can’t wait to see the finished product. I’d never seen the renderings before and it looks great.
I still wish Metro would have considered seriously putting up a sound wall for the transit users so they wouldn’t have to be subjected to high decibel traffic noise that is not only annoying (because you can’t hear the person next to you speak), but dangerous for the inner ears (loss of hearing over time).
I think they’re looking into it -- MTA is supposedly trying something out on the 110 (on the bus route) this spring, so maybe improvements to the Gold Line stations will follow.
they should have capped the highway.
They should’ve enclosed the platform with some kind of glass or plexi-glass. Like a type of tunnel over where passengers stand to help ease the sound…

As of earlier this week they have begun implementing the solar panels, looks like slow going thus far…
Thank you Seamus! I will try to get some pics of this soon and post an update.
