Euro Pane Bakery Opening Soon in Pasadena

Euro Pane's new signage went up today (2/23/10)

[Update: Thanks to Cafe Pasadena for letting me know that Sumi Chang (the owner) decided to go with "Euro Pane" instead of "Miche Bakery" as the name of her second shop. The pictures I took predated the new signage going up by one day, so here's the new signage from tonight.]

For all the Euro Pane (and Sumi Chang) fans out there, you’re about to get another dose as Miche Bakery a second Euro Pane is set to open soon. The new, more upscale¬†concept (located in the very posh Montana Residences on Colorado) has taken almost a year to build out. However, as the window coverings have come down, the finished interior is now revealed and it looks like it won’t be long before you can get your pastry fix!

Euro Pane will open on the ground floor of the Montana Residences across from Paseo Colorado

The interior work is now complete

This new Euro Pane will be an upscale concept by Sumi Chang

Outdoor patio seating will be available to Euro Pane customers

  5. Personally, I think this will be a relocation from the existing site, allowing more room and better parking, with good proximity to the Paseo.
The existing Lake/Colorado site is about 1-2 blocks from real success. Serves the office buildings, yet seldom do people walk there while shopping on south Lake Avenue.
The reason it has been successful is because of Sumi and her product. But when Urth Caffe opens at the corner of Madison, at least this new location will be competitive – the existing one would be at a decided disadvantage.

Yesterday’s Star-News (3/1) stated that Europane’s move was not definite. What’s going on? Is Sumi moving , or not?

  7. I think it means simply they are ironing out the final agreement details & so nothing would have been signed until that is done.
