Downtown LA’s First Tom N Toms Coffee Offers Free WiFi and Late Night Hours

Tom N Toms, a popular Korean coffee chain, is now open in Little Tokyo with free WiFi and stays open late every night of the week

Last summer, we reported that Downtown LA’s first Tom N Toms Coffee — basically Korea’s version of Starbucks with now about a dozen locations in the LA metro — was coming to the Little Tokyo Shopping Center (home to the gigantic Korean supermarket Woori Market). Now open for less than a month, Tom N Toms Coffee adds another solid tenant to the aging indoor shopping center, which has been going through some much needed upgrades over the past couple of years. (A new X-Lanes entertainment bowling alley — think Lucky Strike — is coming soon as well to the third floor.)

What downtown residents will appreciate the most about this new Tom N Toms Coffee location (besides the fact that it’s another great option for coffee/pastries in Downtown LA) is the extended late night hours and free WiFi (with purchase of course). The cafe is open from 7AM to 2AM every day of the week! There are also plenty of seats and even several “private” booths enclosed in glass that are great if you want more seclusion within the cafe.

Oh and if you must drive to this location (at 3rd and Alameda), they do validate/stamp your parking ticket for 2 hours free as well.

  1. It’s so huge! And open late. Can’t wait to check it out.

  2. Nice to see Tom N Toms expanding into DTLA- I’m a fan of the ones here in K-town and do a lot of my web development there :)

One bizarre thing about Tom N Toms that I must point out though: they have all these fancy pretzels on the menu, but if you order one, they will tell you that they’re “out of dough”. They’ve been saying this for 6 months, at every Tom N Toms in K-town. Can someone either make some friggin dough already, or just remove those items from the menu?

  3. Oh, hell yeah. I was in LT for a few hours the other day and ended up working on my laptop in that atrium area. It’s kinda creepy. Now I will have another option when I’m in the area.

BTW, does anyone know how why lots of Japanese American Angelenos call it Japantown, rather than Little Tokyo. (I’m referring to much of the population of Torrance.)

  5. Love Tom N Toms, it was my go to place when I lived in K town. Looks really amazing inside, and great hours to boot. Love that last picture – was that window there all ready? That is a horrible building – very insular, but this opens it up a bit to the outside world.

    • Oh sorry, I just re-read the caption and looked it up on google street view. So they opened up that part of the wall to create the patio?

  6. Cute place :) Love those booths and their hours!!

  7. Those booths are very comfy! The space looks more inviting than most Starbucks i’ve been to. And who doesn’t love the late hours? =)

  8. That mall is saturated with coffee shops, lucky that macaroon shop moved locations.
