Peddler’s Creamery, opening soon at the New Genesis Apartments, installed their sign this week
Five months ago we found out that Peddler’s Creamery was coming to the ground floor retail space at the recently completed New Genesis Apartments near 5th and Main. We also found out that this is no ordinary ice cream shop. What makes Peddler’s Creamery different from others is the way they make their ice cream. The ice cream is churned by man power using specially retrofitted bicycles. Now we know how the store gets its name. There will be an assortment of organic dairy and non-dairy ice cream and other frozen desserts and treats.
Build out inside Peddler’s Creamery is mostly complete and must pass city/county health, fire, safety inspections before it can open for business. The owner, Edward Belden, tells me that it should be open by April at the latest.

very excited to taste their ice cream! they have been pushing that grand opening date back for a while now…
I’ve personally met Edward on several occasions, as he’s been making the rounds at various bike-themed events showing off his churning contraption and serving ice cream samples. He’s a super-nice guy, and he’s been working hard to build awareness and reach out to potential customers. I wish him all the best, and look forward to enjoying his tasty ice cream!
Yum, sounds like a fun addition to the neighborhood.
What a unique way to make something delicious. Can’t wait to try their ice cream! Hopefully they will open in April.
Look forward to trying this!!
Hopefully the next CicLAvia will pass in front of the shop!
