After a $40 million makeover that was completed last October 2012, FIGat7th is expected to open all stores and restaurants by May 2014

Since the sparkling new $40 million FIGat7th makeover opened last October 2012 with the grand opening of City Target, many Downtown LA residents and office workers have been waiting eagerly (and impatiently) for FIGat7th to finally finish leasing out the entire shopping complex. Over the last year, FIGat7th has added some serious muscle when it comes to its tenant mix. In addition to City Target and Sport Chalet opening and the announcement of Zara and H&M coming next spring, a solid lineup of exciting eatery concepts within the TASTE food court have also made FIGat7th into a downtown dining destination, especially during the lunch rush and now even into the afternoon. Once all the eateries are open, creating synergy between each other, there should be a stronger dinner crowd as well.

So what’s next?

Well, it looks like FIGat7th is aiming to open everything by the middle of next year. Specifically May 2014. Zara and H&M (both to be the largest flagship stores in Southern California) should open by the end of April. LensCrafters is opening by this December and new announcement Sunglass Hut should also be open by May. Most store leases have been finalized. Basically, over the next several months, a new announcement for a new business or an opening of a new business will occur approximately every two weeks.

So what are some of the rumors floating around right now for some upcoming stores? Skincare retailer, L’OCCITANE en Provence, and Victoria’s Secret relocating from Macy’s Plaza down the street (aka The Bloc).

    • Yes, it’s currently under active construction (I took a tour inside a few weeks ago). It’s aiming to open by the end of the year contingent on passing the very gratuitously strict City and County building/safety/health inspections.

  1. Will the restaurant Sarku return to this location? They had the best teriyaki chicken….
