The $40 million makeover of FIGat7th is now almost fully leased out to a slew of exciting new retailers. MAC Cosmetics has just signed a lease to join the FIGat7th roster, which includes future LA flagship stores Zara and H&M. The international cosmetics brand will open a 1,500 square foot store sandwiched in between two other new retailers, L’Occitane and Sunglass Hut, coming to the rejuvenated shopping center all by this spring. MAC will open in March on the City Target level, which is now fully leased out to brands like Victoria’s Secret, PINK, Bath & Body Works, and Sprinkles Cupcakes.

MAC is known for its leading line of professional cosmetics that has become the “best-selling high-end makeup in Brazil, India, South Africa, and Turkey” in addition to bringing the brand to developing African nations like Nigeria. MAC is owned by New York-based cosmetics giant Estée Lauder with over 1,000 locations worldwide.

I’ve noticed that some of your announcements for new retail don’t get the same amount of comments as they did 1 year ago. That to me is a good sign that retail has officially arrived in DTLA. I can’t wait to see what 2014 holds in store :)
