Last year in December, we first released some exciting rumors that two more amazing fashion brands — OAK NYC and French fashion line A.P.C. — were sniffing around 9th and Broadway, which has seriously become the epicenter of Broadway’s amazing urban renaissance. Well, I’m so excited to report that both brands are confirmed and will be joining the growing list of amazing brands coalescing around this intersection (see list below).
A.P.C. (stands for “Atelier de Production et de Création”) known for their ultra clean lines and minimalist designs for men and women will be opening along 9th Street in a former gallery space next door to the current Aesop pop-up store, which will close when the permanent Aesop store at the NE corner of 9th/Broadway is finished building out in February 2014. The new A.P.C. store will likely open by this spring.
OAK NYC, which is also known for cutting-edge clothes for both men and women and now owned by LA-based American Apparel, will be opening a 2,200 square foot flagship store on the ground floor of Tarina Tarantino’s Sparkle Factory building just south of 9th Street along Broadway and across the street from the new Ace Hotel. Apparently, OAK NYC is very eager to open as soon as possible and will begin preparation for construction as soon as Feb 1, 2014 with an opening soon after.
Here’s a recap of all the new exciting businesses that have coalesced nearby 9th/Broadway:
