The wait is finally over! 800 Degrees Pizzeria is officially opening in Downtown LA this Monday, Jan 26 after almost a-year-and-a-half since announcing they were opening downtown. The shuttered Provecho restaurant at 800 Wilshire has been transformed into a beautiful new space for the LA-based restaurant chain that, some say, started the whole “custom pizza craze” that spawned a slew of other similar concepts flooding the LA market (think Blaze, Pizza Studio, Pieology, etc).
The 4,800 square foot space sits on the ground floor of the 16-story office tower at the corner of Wilshire and Flower in the heart of the Financial District with an especially huge bustling lunch crowd from all the office workers nearby. The new 800 Degrees in Downtown LA will also be the only one out of the entire chain to have a full bar with beer on tap and over a dozen cocktails that will no doubt make the downtown happy hour rounds.
Some lucky downtowners got a taste of 800 Degrees yesterday on Thursday, Jan 22. Lunch and dinner were completely free (for anyone who walked by) to celebrate the opening this coming Monday. It was the perfect way to gain some new followers in case they haven’t heard of 800 Degrees before.
