Third wave coffee has finally arrived in the heart of Downtown LA’s Financial District, which is currently dominated mostly by Starbucks, Starbucks, and a couple of Coffee Beans. (Okay, there is third-wave Barista Society at Library Tower, but that’s borderline Bunker Hill.) Close to all the action, the very popular Two Guns Espresso from Manhattan Beach will be opening soon at the base of the Figueroa at Wilshire tower — a 53-story skyscraper owned by Brookfield situated directly across the street from the highly anticipated Wilshire Grand.

Planning to open April 6, 2015, Two Guns will replace the shuttered Border Grill Stop, which closed in January and occupied a stand alone permanent kiosk on the plaza level. New signs plastered on the kiosk windows announcing Two Guns’ arrival “coming soon” went up this week. The downtown location will offer tons of outdoor patio seating to enjoy your cup of joe, whether that be their famous flat white, soy latte, or cappuccino. Eater LA first reported back in late January that the coffee house was looking to open downtown.

Interested to see the hours of operation. Very excited to see the influx of new things but if they are not open after the “business” crowd leaves it serves no use for us who live here.

  2. This business will be WAY more successful at this location…I envision lines ALL day long!

Barista Society is no more. Spring For Coffee on Grand is now the nearest “third wave” coffee spot to Bunker Hill.

Barista Society is coming back – they’re just renovating that entire mezzanine level of the US Bank tower. It will have new restaurants and Barista will have a bigger, more sitting-friendly space.

Barista Society should re-open around the time of the observation deck / renovation at US Bank, correct? I know they had said Q2 15

Yeah, that’s what I heard too, but that seems aggressive.

Unrelated note, but what is going into that space below Equinox / where Carl’s Jr. used to be?
